Appointment of Alban Genais

Alban Genais, Inspector of Finance, has been appointed Head of the Financial and General Affairs Department at the General Secretariat of the French Ministry of Culture.

A former student of ENA (Ecole Nationale d'Administration), he began his career as an administrator with the French National Assembly's Law Commission, before joining the Inspectorate General of Finance in 2018. A lecturer in public finance at the Université Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne and in public law and economics at Sciences Po, he joined France's Permanent Representation to the European Union in 2021 as financial advisor. From 2022 to 2025, he was deputy director of Tracfin, Bercy's financial intelligence service.
